About Me.

Welcome! I am a dedicated Spanish and Dual Language Middle School Teacher with over 13 years of experience in creating an engaging classroom environment that promotes language acquisition and cultural appreciation. After a brief hiatus to care for my infant, I am excited to return to education and continue developing authentic resources that enhance student learning. As a native speaker, I am passionate about crafting interactive digital games and activities that enrich speaking, listening, writing, and reading skills while celebrating the beauty of Spanish literature, music, and arts.

Born in Puerto Rico and moving to New York at just seven years old with my parents and nine siblings, I faced significant challenges, including limited resources and my parents' struggle with the English language. Our family encountered hardship, including time spent in shelters, which ignited my determination to break the cycle of poverty and lack of education. Against all odds, I became the first in my family to earn a Bachelor's degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Latin American Caribbean US Latino Studies. My journey demonstrates the perseverance and dedication I bring to my career as an educator, driven by the unconditional love of my parents despite their humble origins.

As a dedicated mother and wife, I find joy in the simple moments—whether it’s attending church on Sundays, taking leisurely walks with my family, or engaging in painting and cooking. These experiences not only enrich my personal life but also shape my teaching philosophy. I strive to inspire my students to embrace their challenges and pursue their dreams with passionate determination.
